We show you how to create your barcodes for use in SalesVu POS

Barcode is a tool with which it is possible to optimize the sales process and it provides companies with multiple benefits that help them to increase their efficiency and productivity.

However, at the time of creating these symbols, some entrepreneurs do not know that what tools to use for it or the rules to follow to include them correctly in their accounting processes, which can lead to delays in sales and problems with inventory tasks.

To help you better use this tool, today we will explain how to create your business barcodes and then successfully include them in our SalesVu POS system.

How do I create a barcode?

Currently, there are several tools with which it is possible to generate barcodes. Some of them are:

abarcode.net

This system allows you to draw and print barcodes in Windows applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and provide a demo version that you can try for free for 30 days to learn about all its functionalities.

Mr. Labelview

This application is compatible with Windows 10 and offering a simple platform and various customization options to its users. Like the previous option, Labelview also has a trial version that you can use for 30 days to understand all its benefits.

Are all barcodes valid?

Before adding a code to your items, you must review the GS1 rules and purchase a registered product license, as GS1 is responsible for managing international standards for barcodes, e-commerce, database synchronization, and electronic product codes.

However, if you intend to use these symbols for the internal management of your business, you can create the codes on one of the above portals without the need to purchase a license.

How do I enable barcode functionality in SalesVu?

After creating your barcodes you can activate this feature by following these steps:

 

Go to the “Settings” menu.

Scroll to the “Inventory” box.

Click “Additional attributes” and select the “barcode” box.

Select “Save” to apply your changes.

How do I add the code to my products?

One of the advantages of Salesvu is that you can use these labels to directly add products to your inventory or to make quick invoices.

 

Look at the top for the product you want to associate with the barcode.

In the product, detail clicks on the “More actions” button.

Enter the “Barcode” field and capture the code of your product with the gun.

Click Save to apply your changes.

Can I check in to SalesVu POS using barcodes?

After you associate a barcode with your products you can use them to create vouchers from our SalesVu POS billing platform and you can create vendor invoices to record purchases in inventory.

Click the barcode icon to add the products to the invoice using the code reader. Repeat this step for each product.

You can then modify the products added to the invoice and when you are finished select the “sell” option.

Click “Save” to apply the changes.
